The sky stayed clear all day with light winds from the northwest at first, switching to the southwest. Computer generated temp profiles for the early afternoon atmosphere had a lower inversion and then an upper inversion, but with just the upper inversion in place by mid afternoon - plans were to fly when the temps were high enough.

The CD sent the sniffer aloft who found only smooth air and an occasional burble.  The CD waited and then sent the two front gliders on the grid aloft but with continued poor luck, both finding lift to just 2k agl in weak lift at the airport and over the city, but none over the surrounding countryside.  And by this time, the mid afternoon had both classes still on the ground so the day was cancelled.
