On A Normal Day...

About half our registered contestants flew today on Practice Day 2.  John Cockrane finished first for the day with a raw speed of 78.7 mph over 296 miles.  Hal Woodruff was second and Jon Fitch third.  I asked the pilots how the day went, and both Cochrane and Fitch had essentially the same answer:  "Well, when you came to a decision point, you'd say to yourself:  'On a normal day, I'd do such-and-so...but...this doesn't feel like a normal day.'"  Meaning, the clouds were...inconsistant...and there were lots of areas with huge sink.
