Day 4 Morning Briefing

Region 8 Contest Day 4

We started with a safety brifing from Joe Silvasi of Tucson AZ. The topic was cheklist usage: use them, refine them to your needs, and make a few that cover something other than the ones related to the glider.

We had quick reports from the Day 3 winners. Every one came back, but the start gate was tough to leave and several competitors didn't get out on course. Thanks again for the daily winner prizes donated by Wings and Wheels.

Weather: Blue, Blue, except patches of cirrus to the north. Lift is forecast to 9000, but a inversion will top the lift.  Expected lift strength 4-6 kts through 6pm. Height of thermals starting at 6500 rising to 8500 by mid afternoon.

Tasks: The same turnpoints and task time.
Three hours task time, for the following points and radius:

West start, 5 miles
Waterville, 5 miles
Knowlton Knob, 20 miles
Dry Falls, 5 miles
Reach Road, 15 miles
