Day 1 Weather

Good morning race fans. Yesterday's storms didn't exactly materialize here at Chilhowee. We had rain in the morning but the storms set up along I-40 in the afternoon.

Today we have scattered showers all around the area this morning with a big line of storms to the west approaching. Expectation is it will be here late morning. Wind and Hail are primary threats.

There's a possibility of storms reforming this afternoon but confidence is low.

Looking forward to tomorrow, the cold front will pass and the wind turns out of the NW about noon. While there is a slight chance of showers in the morning we expect to see thermals in the afternoon and get the contest started.
