Day 6 is wrapped

It is a pleasure as a CD to see smiles on faces of pilots after they ripped up a day in the sky.  Today was fast and marked with plenty of clouds.  The winner of 20m, EM struck out early with 43 close by and the rest of the class played start gate roulette.  I estimated a finish in the 80s and I was wrong. EM did 96MPH in the 20m and P7 did 103Mph in standard class.  This is fast for Montague.   Next 2 days look like similar strong wx.  Should be fun to watch.

Tonight we celebrate the close of the region 11 North contest with a tri tip BBQ and a live band.  Also a surprise visit from Ray Gimmey 7V.  This is a special place for Ray.  In my knowledge Ray was the first and only pilot to win a US national soaring comp after the age of 80.  In 2014 Ray one the 18m Nationals here in Montague.

Check out the scores. We really do have a race in both classes.
