Day 5 Post Launch

As we gridded the fleet at 1200 the sky looked still and very blue.  I launched the sniffers to Craggy and they climbed slowly but topped at 6000 feet. By 1315 they still had not found any climbs above 6500 so I asked them to move west towards Gunsight where they found better conditions. I launched the Standard class and 1330 and they were towed to the gunsight ridge.   The 20m class followed shortly and soon most of the fleet was getting up in the gate.

2:45 hour task for the standard class opened at 14:28 and for 20M 15:00.

By the time we got back to the hangar to rehydrate and catch a breath, we got a call that 2 standards are landing at weed and the 182 tow plane is at weed with a flat main tire.

So much for a breath.   Spot tracker is showing a nice day.  Many gliders are 12-15K and by this writing most have rounded the 4th turn point.  It is 1700 hours and they are about 60% around the task. I hoping the day does not go to bed to fast or early. May be tight in the end.

Stay tuned for scores.
