Day 1 - Monday

At this time of year in Minnesota, if you find sunshine on the ground, you get to soar.  Cu's began to populatethe sky in all directions afterh the pilots meeting and before grid time.  The CD agreed that we didn't need a sniffer to explore the sky so the competitors were launched early and in short time.  Climbs indicated were higher than five knots if you had to circle with some overdevelopment to the north.  This task sported big circles at Owatonna and Mason City with lots of energy in all directions.  Rick Hoffmann placed first at a speed of 59 mph with Mark Akerley in second at 52 mph.
