| Description: | Hobbs Soaring Society (HSS) is hosting a 3-day Cross-Country Development Camp at the Hobbs Industrial Airfield. This Cross-Country Development Camp is targeting pilots that are looking to break the apron strings and broaden their soaring experience beyond the local airport area. HSS is located at the Hobbs Industrial Airfield, just north of the town of Hobbs. It is a cross-country friendly area with nearby airports and land out friendly agricultural fields. Tasks will be set to accommodate all skill levels. Bring your own glider or one of your clubs gliders and join us for three days of informative morning presentations and coaching/mentoring by experienced cross-country and contest pilots. Gliders will be limited to a maximum gross take-off weight of no more than 800 lbs. Attendees are encouraged to have at least a Bronze Badge, or equivalent soaring experience. Tasks will be utilized to develop both your skills and confidence. All flights will be posted to WeGlide and OLC so make sure you have your accounts set up. If you dont, we can help you set up your accounts. Attendees will be limited to 12 pilots so register as early as possible. Motels and lodging are withing 15-minutes of the field.
